Yesterday we were at the Málaga Viva Meeting and we echo the conclusions of Manola Brunet, who commented on the high risk of our peninsula due to the severity of the expected climatic phenomena.
We cannot sit idly by waiting for this to happen. Cities, and above all, coastal cities and those along rivers with high flow, must take measures to adapt their infrastructure to these new scenarios.
We want to congratulate the Area of Environment, Interior Tourism and Climate Change of the Diputación de Málaga for this initiative, which we think is totally necessary to raise awareness about this issue.
Finally, congratulate all the speakers for their magnificent interventions: Manuela Brunet, president of the International Commission of Climatology of the World Meteorological Organization, agency of the UN; Puri Canals, president of MedPAN (Mediterranean Network of Marine Protected Areas Managers); Cristina Monge, director of the Conversations area of the Ecology and Development Foundation (ECODES); and Mar Gómez, PhD in Physical Sciences, meteorologist on the leading web in meteorology in Spain eltiempo.es and presenter of the media time.
